Education

Dr. Kurt E. Garber DPT is the owner of Garber Physical therapy which was founded in 2011. He earned his Associate Degree in Physical Therapy from Illinois Central College in Peoria, Illinois in 1992. He earned his Bachelors Degrees in Physical Therapy from The University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio in 2000. He earned his Post-Professional Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa in 2009. Overall, he has over 28 years of experience in physical therapy.

Treatment Philosophy

Dr. Kurt believes in a balanced approach to treatment consisting of, educating the patient on the treatment and management of their problem, use of heating and pain relief modalities, therapeutic exercises to correct the cause of the problem, and hands-on techniques (manual therapy). Throughout Dr. Kurt’s 28 years of practice and experience, this balanced approach is what has worked best for his patients.

Personal

Dr. Kurt is originally from Illinois, but says that he is a southerner at heart. Dr. Kurt is married to Amy Garber, his wife of 34 years. They have 2 grown children. They enjoy gardening, working outside, and raising chickens.

Fun Fact: Dr. Kurt is a Veteran of the US Army. He was a Combat Medic from 1983-1987. He served in peacetime only. His experience included working in the Emergency Room at the Army hospital in New Jersey and in South Korea.
